The book "Mater is not your friend," or Why children are wonderful... by Katya Blyostka

It doesn't matter whether you planned to have children or not, looking at the two lines on a pregnancy test will still cause a woman to experience a lot of conflicting emotions. And so will a man when he finds out, by the way.

This book is about real, living, imperfect motherhood. About a mother who, through the prism of humor and self-irony, using a light dose of elegant swear words, tries to get through the day and the night. From the pregnancy test to the battles in kindergarten. About first baths, teeth, snot and awkward questions.

We will walk through all the stages of motherhood with a dignified gait, trying to stay on course to maintain common sense and mental balance. We will analyze stereotypes, destroy patterns, gently “defuse” the woman. We will develop immunity to unsolicited advice and prejudices.

This book is for moms to support and inspire; moms-to-be to tune in and know what to expect; grandmas to remember and relive; and dads to better understand all these ladies.

Katya Blyostka is a "mother" of four sons, a blogger. She was born and raised in the village of Goshcha, Rivne region. In 2014, she moved to the United States.
