The book "Motel Twilight" is a paranormal thriller by American writer Simone St. James. The novel alternates parallel plots about two women: Vivian Delaney and her twenty-year-old niece Carly Kirk. Viv worked as a night clerk at a quaint motel in the town of Fell, but in November 1982 she disappeared. Carly is worried about the fate of her aunt and outraged by the fact that no one is looking for Delaney. Many years have passed, Kirk's mother has died and the heroine gradually loses the meaning of existence: the death of a loved one has shown the girl that life is short. She has questions to which she does not know the answers, so she decides to leave Illinois and find out what happened to her relative.
Two timelines: thirty-five years apart
A cool autumn day became fatal for Vivian. She sat in her Chevrolet Cavalier and did not want to go on a shift to "Twilight": she was scared. The heroine was afraid to be alone with the guests. In this dark, damp room, danger lurked and mysticism reigned, but Viv needed money, so she entered the motel, and later regretted it...
Carly Kirk was not yet born when her aunt disappeared. The heroine has always been interested in the history of her family, and the mystery surrounding Viv pushed the girl to solve this mystery. There was not a single photo of Delaney in the house. Not only the police had forgotten about her, but also her own family... Are her relatives just pretending not to remember? Vivian was not mentioned at home. The heroine first saw her face when she was searching the Internet. Kirk printed out a photo of the missing woman and showed it to her mother, who only looked at the piece of paper in pain.
