- This book is a reprint of a rare album dedicated to the folk art of the Ukrainian Carpathians, which was first published in Prague in Russian, Czech, and English in 1925–1926 under the title "Folk Art of Subcarpathian Rus'" (edited by S. K. Makovsky).
- The publication contains 100 black-and-white and 10 color tables of illustrations, which present over 300 unique examples of folk art: woodcarving and ceramics, clothing and jewelry, embroidery, fabrics, wooden architecture, etc. Geographically, both the Galician and Transcarpathian Hutsul regions are represented; over 70 settlements of the Ukrainian Carpathians are covered.
- The album is supplemented with a foreword by the famous Ukrainian art critic Prof. M. R. Selivachev, as well as a geographical index.
