A dead girl in the morgue turns out to be... alive. Pathologist Maura Isles notices this by chance and saves her. However, the suicide bomber is in no hurry to thank her. She kills a security guard and takes the hospital's employees and patients hostage. Among them is pregnant detective Jane Rizzoli. Maura and Jane's husband, FBI agent Gabriel, try to find out who the stranger is avenging and for what. But a Washington special forces unit that breaks into the hospital shoots the suicide bomber.
