To kill in the memory of the subdued masses the idea for which the rebels sacrificed their young lives. Of course, they shot, hung, burned, destroyed - but whom? On their battle black flag the inscription: "The will of Ukraine or death." They did not leave the forest even when foreign power reigned all around and there was no hope of liberation. They - the survivors - chose death for themselves.
