Murder on the Orient Express book by Agatha Christie
Belgian detective Hercule Poirot urgently needs to leave Istanbul for England, but there are no more seats on the Orient Express. He is rescued by his old friend Monsieur Bouc, the owner of the company that owns the train. In the morning, over breakfast, the detective notices that the passengers on the express are people of different nationalities who accidentally ended up in the same carriage. The American Ratchett, who seems too suspicious to Poirot, asks the detective to become his bodyguard. But he refuses. At night, Poirot is constantly awakened by various sounds and knocks, but then silence sets in - the train has stopped somewhere in Yugoslavia due to snowdrifts, the passengers are tense, and the strange Mr. Ratchett lies dead in his compartment... Detective Poirot begins to investigate.
