- The book collects Stefan Taranushenko's research on five destroyed masterpieces of Ukrainian wooden sacred architecture: the Trinity Church of 1710 in the village of Pakul in the Chernihiv region, the Pokrovsk Church of 1759 in the city of Zinkiv in the Poltava region, the Ascension Church of 1759–1761 in the town of Berezna in the Chernihiv region, the Vvedenskaya Church of 1761 in the village of Artemivka in the Kharkiv region, and the Mykolaiv Church of the 1760s in the village of Novi Mlyny in the Chernihiv region.
- In the 1920s and 1930s, the author managed to measure and photograph them before the process of total destruction of monuments of sacred art by the Soviet authorities.
- The publication contains a QR code at the end of each exploration, by scanning which the reader will be able to view 3D models of destroyed temples and gain a comprehensive understanding of the masterpieces of Ukrainian wooden sacred architecture that we have not preserved.
