About the author

The author, whose literature for a long time belonged to the category of banned, Vasyl Stus was not afraid to speak out against the totalitarian regime. Living in the Soviet Union, where active work of unification was carried out, where division into different peoples was not welcomed, but on the contrary, everyone was considered a single people, the writer nevertheless defended the interests of Ukrainian culture. He belonged to the dissident movement, his books were not published during his lifetime, but he did not stop his activities.
